Artist's Mission
My work addresses the femininity of life through photography, mixed media, and way of living. My art aims to show the real life woman that feels trapped in a socially constructed body. I admire Francesca Woodman's work as her black and white photographs tell a story through the obscurity of the female subject and the viewer’s gaze, breaking the bounds of female expectation. My work also integrates aspects of faith and religion in attempting to explore my identity and body as a woman. My goal is to continue making art that borders between the cultural standard of female objectification and the religious standard of God breathed womanhood.
